Digitalization of signalling and control technology: start of implementation
The nationwide implementation of ETCS in Germany is gathering speed. Politicians, infrastructure operators and industry are working hard to prepare the full rollout. However, this is also raising more questions: How can forward compatibility be ensured? How is European harmonization going? And what will a transition from ETCS to automated driving be like?
The International Signal+Draht Congress, which will take place for the 20th time this year, explores these questions. Furthermore, it will apply its tried-and-tested approach focusing on current developments as well as future-oriented questions surrounding signalling and control technology. Both the European and political perspectives are at the top of the agenda, and the ETCS targets and implementation strategies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are the next area of focus. The second day will shed light on a variety of current project topics relating to the ETCS rollout, before taking a look at scientifi c activities in signalling and control technology.
